Our founder, Andrew Green, a long-time ECC player, began his chess journey through their youth team, the Tiger Cubs. While ECC has a rich history and a strong adult playing community, it had limited opportunities for children to learn chess from the ground up. At the same time, we noticed at ECA that with structured, high-quality coaching, children were improving quickly and
often outgrowing junior chess.
Through this partnership, ECC now offers a world-class training pathway for children to begin their chess journey, while ECA can encourage its strongest juniors to step confidently into adult chess. Graduates of our programme can join ECC’s youth team, the Tiger Cubs, to compete against adults in league matches and take part in ECC’s internal competitions.
This collaboration creates a seamless chess experience, allowing children to grow in a supportive environment, from beginner level at age six right through to competitive adult play.
